Treasurer Diane reported on our finances. Bills were presented and Linda D. made a motion to pay the bills seconded by Collette W. Motion carried.

President Veronica thanks everyone who donated to our bake sale and especially those who attended and purchased items to make our sale a huge success. We now have steel shelving and totes in the back room instead of storing boxes above the Legion’s closet. Bake sale workers were Diane C, Collette W, Linda D, and Bev C.

Collette W. delivered 27 lap quilts to VA hospital in Iowa City. Thank you was received from AFIL (Americans for Independent Living) for the 10 lap quilts we had delivered to them in Waterloo. AFIL assists disabled veterans providing them with items for permanent housing and helping them to live independent lives.

Received letter from IVH regarding their Recreation Fund. The fund is lower than anticipated this year. Julia B made a motion seconded by Pauline S. to send a monetary donation to their recreation account. Motion carried.

Diane reviewed the 3rd district conference which she attended and there were 40 members attending. April 15th, please wear purple to support the veteran’s children. Will have a grocery raffle at fall conference as their treasury is low in funds. 3rd district clipper will be published only twice a year, at the fall conference time and at the spring conference time. Charge will be $5 a year if mailed but no charge if received as an email.

Diane reviewed the Tama County Conference at Reinbeck. There were 7 Auxiliary and 1 Legion member in attendance. Tama County Government Day received a grant and will be divided between this year and next year. Julia B. will make the 4 dozen cookies our unit is to furnish for Government Day on April 9.
