TRAER – The Traer Lions Club Soup Day will be held at the Memorial Building during Holiday Happenings on Saturday, Dec. 6 from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Come enjoy a bowl of soup and pie! There will also be information available about signing up for our “Flags over Traer” project for 2026.

The Lions Club 65th Annual Christmas Lighting Contest will have a new twist this year with three new categories, including large, medium and small displays. Winners of each category will be awarded $75. Judging will take place on Dec. 10 and Dec. 11 from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.

The contest is open to anyone living in the North Tama school district. Anyone living outside Traer city limits, please contact Peggy Finzen (319-269-9963) or Linda Peters (319-269-5329) to have your display judged.
