Carl Wilson sold and repaired radios in Traer for nearly 28 years before selling his business to Jack Nagel and John Romick in 1953. In 1942, he ran this ad: “Since manufacture of all radios was discontinued on April 22, 1942 the only new sets available for the duration are now in the dealers’ hands. You may not be able to buy a new radio for some time to come. But our many years of experience in the servicing of radios is your assurance of always being able to enjoy a radio with perfect reception.” Wilson also had a public address system for rent that included four large speakers. This system was used at the old Legion field for baseball games.
