CLUTIER – The Hora-Machacek Unit #453 of the American Legion Auxiliary met on Tuesday, Feb. 3, at the Clutier Legion Hall. There were 11 ladies working on lap quilts and plastic bags for veterans. We started at 9 a.m. and then had a potluck at noon. After lunch, a short meeting was held with five members present. We have so far sent 125 laps quilts to the VA Hospital and Clinic since October 2025. A bill was presented and paid for the extra totes purchased to keep material in for the lap quilts. Upcoming dates are a bake sale on March 15, County meeting on March 24 in Traer, Tama County Government Day on April 8, and IVH Bingo on April 15. The next meeting will be March 3 with sewing starting at 9 a.m. Meeting adjourned.
