Hora-Machacek holds March meeting

CLUTIER – Hora-Machacek Unit 453 of the American Legion Auxiliary met on Tuesday, March 3. There were seven present to help with sewing and cutting plastic bags. At this session, we had started sewing dignity clothing protectors and also bags to place on walkers. These are for the Iowa Veterans Hospital in Iowa City. A potluck lunch was enjoyed at noon.

The meeting was called to order around 1 p.m. with four members present. Secretary Margaret Babinat read the minutes from the December and February meetings. They were approved as read. Treasurer Diane Caloud gave the treasurer’s report. Report approved as given. A bill from Deb Kupka was presented for velcro for the dignity clothing protectors. Collette moved to pay and Diane seconded. Motion passed.

Old business was about the upcoming bake sale to be held in conjunction with the Legion Pancake Breakfast on March 15. Bake sale is from 8 a.m. to noon unless sold out before. Letters about the Bake Sale were sent out to members. Collette updated us on getting floors cleaned.

Upcoming dates are: Foreign Food Fair on March 21; County meeting in Traer on March 27 at 1:30 p.m.; Government Day on April 8; IVH Bingo on April 15.

The next meeting will be April 7 at 1:30 p.m. Deb moved to adjourn.
