Dysart Community Foundation distributes nearly $13K to local organizations

DYSART – The Dysart Community Foundation is announcing the distribution of $12,700 in grants to the following organizations serving the City of Dysart.

-Dysart Community Vacation Bible School: Funding assistance for materials and snacks

-Norma Anders Public Library: Summer reading incentives and enrichment programs

-Dysart Historical Society: Painting of the country school building

-Dysart Cemetery Association: Installing block markers and a cemetery map

-Dysart Recreation: L Screen for school softball field and the city park baseball field

-Wolfcreek Players: Summer theater camp

-Club Dysart: Activities for 4th of July Celebration & nation’s 250th anniversary

-Union Middle School: Purchase equipment and supplies for Family & Consumer Science classes

-Union Community Rec Soccer: Field striping machines

-Vision Dysart: Funding the creation and installation of three original art panels on Main Street Dysart’s Pocket Park

-Tama County Historical Society: Preserving and digitizing Dysart’s historical newspapers

This is the 27th year of awarding grants. The total of Foundation grants to the community now exceeds $131,500.

The DCF will receive and accept properties and gifts for the benefit of Dysart and its citizens and will distribute those gifts to community organizations such as those named above, either as the donor directs the funds to be spent, or as the Foundation’s Board of Directors select.

All gifts made to the Foundation qualify as charitable donations for the donor and are recognized as such by the Internal Revenue Service. This gives donors the ability to donate to the community of Dysart and avoid federal and state income, estate and gift taxes on those contributions.

Gifts to the Foundation may be made in cash, appreciated securities, real estate, pledges, deferred gifts (such as life insurance proceeds or bequests in a will), or charitable remainder trusts.
