TRAER – The first water tower in Traer was a wooden structure in the southwest part of Taylor Park. This photo is taken from the corner of Main and Fifth Streets looking northeast. The bandstand and sidewalks were added to the park around 1905. Notice the telephone lines. Each wire was a separate telephone party line with eight to 10 households per line.
