TRAER – Sunrise Hill Care & Rehab Center is proud to announce that it has been named a 2026 Best Skilled Nursing Facility, ranking in the top 5% of facilities nationwide, by the Women’s Choice Award®, a national recognition program that identifies the skilled nursing facilities that women trust most for their families and loved ones.
This designation is based on an in-depth review of national CMS (Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services) data across the quality measures women identify as most important when choosing long-term care. These include clinical quality, safety, staffing stability, and regulatory performance — areas proven to influence resident well-being and family confidence.
A Recognition Rooted in What Matters Most to Women
Women make the majority of long-term care decisions in the United States, and they consistently seek facilities that demonstrate strong outcomes, transparent quality, and a commitment to resident safety. The Women’s Choice Award® evaluates these priorities using national, publicly reported data to identify the top-performing skilled nursing facilities across the country.
“Families deserve to feel confident when choosing care for the people they love,” Delia Passi, CEO and Founder of the Women’s Choice Award®, said. “Facilities that earn this recognition have demonstrated a measurable commitment to safety, quality, and resident well-being. We are proud to honor organizations that consistently deliver care women can trust.”
“Earning this recognition reflects the dedication of our entire team of 86 extraordinary individuals,” Sunrise Hill Administrator Dann Larmore said. “We are honored to be recognized for the quality of care we provide and for the trust families place in us every day. Another unique and humbling caveat to this recognition, is that it is ‘bestowed’ upon us by an organization that cares (about) and monitors a complex system, like the Center for Medicare/Medicaid Services, the depository of data submissions reflecting all services received by residents in our care. There is no application process requiring Sunrise Hill to ‘toot’ its own horn, rather recognition is earned by the caliber of the services we have provided to our community. I truly think of Sunrise Hill as a ‘hidden gem’ in the Traer community.”
Why This Matters for Families
Facilities earning the Best Skilled Nursing Facility designation demonstrate stronger performance in the areas women identify as most important when choosing care, including:
-Clinical quality and resident safety — outcomes related to falls, pressure injuries, infections, and functional decline
-Staffing adequacy — total nursing hours per resident per day, adjusted for case mix and acuity
-RN staffing mix — registered nurse hours that support clinical oversight and higher-level care
-Workforce stability and regulatory performance — turnover rates, survey findings, and compliance indicators
-Additional factors women prioritize — transparency, trust signals, and measures tied to family confidence
These indicators help families make informed decisions during some of life’s most important and emotional moments.

Editor’s Note
The Women’s Choice Award is a private recognition program that evaluates healthcare facilities using the most recent publicly available clinical data from The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) patient satisfaction survey results, relevant accreditation information from appropriate sources, and the American Hospital Directory. According to the organization, facilities do not pay to be considered for the award, although recipients may purchase promotional materials and licensing rights associated with the designation.
