Traer’s first swimming pool opened in June 1931 and was the first swimming pool in Tama County. Prior to 1931, there was a lagoon or pond in the southeast corner of Taylor Park. The 1931 pool served the community for over 40 years. The current swimming pool is the third built in the same area of Taylor Park.
