TRAER – The Traer Commercial Club and Traer Saddle Club and held the 8th annual horse show at the American Legion Field east of Traer on August 3, 1957. The show began with a parade, led by Judy Street, George Kostlan, Harry Thomas and the Clutier High School marching band. It traveled down Highway 8 turning north on Highway 63 and back east on First Street. Ed Bohnstengel was general manager of the show. There were 127 horses entered from 20 towns in Iowa.
