TRAER — The 2026 McKenna Reunion for the families of the late Charles and Clara McKenna was held Sunday, Aug. 2, at Taylor Park in Traer. Thirty-nine family members attended the potluck dinner.

President Stephanie Buchanan led the business meeting following dinner. Officers elected for the next reunion are Marcie McKenna, president; Sara Schlorholtz, vice president; and Mike Schmitt, secretary-treasurer.

The next reunion will be held Aug. 6, 2028, at Taylor Park in Traer.

Announcement of Births

A daughter, Eleanor Rose was born Dec. 30, 2024, to Alex and Lindsey Schmitt. Grandparents are Mark and Brenda Schmitt. Great-grandmother is Lois (McKenna) Schmitt, and the late Ronald Schmitt was her great-grandfather. Great-great-grandparents are the late Robert and Patricia McKenna.

Cass and Destinee Glasser welcomed a son, Dax Gilbert Glasser, on July 15, 2024. His grandmother was the late Deborah Eckardt. Great-grandparents are Rita Eckardt and the late Donald Eckardt.

Laura and Patrick Evans welcomed daughter Adalyn Willow on June 16, 2024, and daughter Kora Lael on Aug. 22, 2025. Grandparents are John and Pamela Thiele. Great-grandparents are the late Harold and Maxine McKenna.

Amber Borman married Daniel Trucksess on Dec. 28, 2024, in Des Moines. Amber is the daughter of Susan and Terry Borman and the granddaughter of Evie and Cleo Schmit. Her great-great-grandparents are the late Robert and Patricia McKenna.

Liz DeJoode married Scott Owen on March 16, 2026, in St. Vincent and the Grenadines. Liz is the daughter of Dick and Colette McKenna. Her great-grandparents are the late Robert and Patricia McKenna.

Mikayla McKenna married Tanner Sharp on June 21, 2025, and Madison McKenna married Treyton Jacobsen on Nov. 8, 2025. They are the daughters of Nathan and Jennifer McKenna of Hudson and the granddaughters of Joe McKenna and the late Eileen McKenna. Their great-great-grandparents are the late Robert and Patricia McKenna.

Announcement of Deaths

Daniel Wayne Brandt died Jan. 15, 2025. He was the husband of Donna Nichols and the son of the late Walter and Irene (McKenna) Brandt. His grandparents were the late Charles and Clara McKenna.

Lori Ann (Bayles) Yuska died Jan. 27, 2025. She was the wife of Tom Yuska. Her grandparents were the late Wesley and Florence (McKenna) Yuska.
