James E. Mason Jr., 75

James Estle Mason Jr,, 75, of Dysart, passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at Sunrise Hill Care Center. Visitation will be held at Ripley United Church of Christ in Traer on Friday, March 13, 2015 from 4 to 7 p.m. with a service on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Buckingham Cemetery.

James Estle Mason Jr. was born August 17, 1939, in Toledo, IA, the son of James E. Sr. and Orleene (Dixon) Mason. He graduated from Traer High School in 1957. He served in the Iowa Army National Guard 1063rd Aviation Unit which was activated during the Berlin Crisis. In 1962, he was united in marriage to Judy Jenson in Waterloo, IA. He was a lifelong resident of rural Traer and farmed all his life. He served on the Farmers Home Administration Board for 6 years. He was a director at Farmers Savings Bank & Trust for 16 years. He was a member of Ripley United Church of Christ where he served as chairman of the Trustees and Deacons. Estle enjoyed fishing in Canada and hunting. He and Judy traveled to numerous destinations over the years.

Estle passed away at the age of 75 on Saturday, March 07, 2015, at Sunrise Hill Care Center after a lengthy illness. He is survived by his wife, Judy; 4 children, Connie Boldt, Scott (Cindy) Mason, Brad (Teresa) Mason, and Kim (Jason) Knittel; 13 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; 4 brothers; 6 sisters and many nieces and nephews.
