Marie Mildred (Bartosh) Vilimek was born on October 29, 1924, in Elberon, Iowa, to parents Joseph and Agnes (Buresh) Bartosh. She was baptized and confirmed at the Elberon United Methodist Church. Marie attended and graduated from Elberon High School in 1945.

On Valentine’s Day, Marie was united in marriage with Lester Vilimek at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. The family made their home in many communities in Iowa, due to Lester working for the railroad.

Marie did work outside her home, first as a switchboard operator, then a secretary in an insurance office, and lastly was the manager at the Vining Bank.

Marie was active with the Rebekah Lodge, celebrating her 65 year membership on March 15, 2015. Over the years, she had held every office within her lodge. She moved to Lake Mills in 1997, where she was a member of the Senior Citizens.

She is lovingly survived by her daughter, Rebecca Olson of Lake Mills; two grandchildren, Bob (Marcy) Olson of Ellsworth, IA, and Sue (John) Bray of Lake Mills, IA; four great grandchildren, Jonathan Olson, Nicholas Olson, Abbey Bray and Emily Bray; a brother Joe W. Bartosh of Dysart, IA; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Marie was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Agnes Bartosh; husband Lester in 1978; son-in-law Wayne Olson; sister Libbie Kos; brother Charlie Bartosh; and two sisters-in-law, Eileen Bartosh and Esther Bartosh.
