Buena A. Wilimek, 91

Beuna Alma (Henningsen) Wilimek was born on June 12, 1926 to Julius and Methea (Krog) Henningsen in Dike, Iowa. She graduated from Dike High School in 1944 and began working in the main offices of Rath Packing Plant. Later she attended Pitz’s School of Beauty Culture in Waterloo. Once she had completed beauty school, she went on to open her own salon, Beuna’s Beauty Salon in Cedar Falls. On May 30, 1954 Beuna married the love of her life, John Wilimek and the two spent many years together working on their family farm in Traer and raising their two children. Beuna enjoyed tending to her flourishing garden beds, going dancing with her husband, educating individuals on her Danish heritage, but most of all spending time with her beloved family. Beuna Wilimek will be remembered for her great wit, humor, the love that she showed to every person that she met, and the passion that she had for her faith.

Beuna Wilimek died on Monday, January 29, 2018 at Parkview Manor in Reinbeck at the age of 91, surrounded by her family. She is preceded in death by her parents; three sisters: Beulah Henningsen, Lauretta Hollis, and Euna Sebetka; her brother: Etlar Henningsen; her husband: John Wilimek; daughter-in-law: Lourie Wilimek; and one grandchild: Jonathan Harrison. Beuna is survived by her two children: Marcia (Don) Harrison of Reinbeck, and Brian Wilimek of Traer, four grandchildren: Remington Wilimek of Traer, Shyla (Erik)Lampley of Tennessee, Richard Harrison of Grundy Center, Christopher Harrison of Marshalltown; three great grandchildren, and one great grandchild on the way.
