Beverly Kae Hoeg

Beverly Kae Hoeg, 83, of Traer, passed away Wednesday, June 3, 2020 at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo. Private Family Funeral Services will be held at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama. Beverly was born on March 11, 1937, in Marshalltown, Iowa, the daughter of Lester and Twylah (Engel) Keese of Traer, Iowa.

She graduated from Geneseo High School and attended Iowa State University.

On September 18, 1957, she was united in marriage to Duwane Hoeg at the Traer Methodist Church. Beverly was a farmwife and was busy raising her family. They farmed near Elberon and since 1963, east of Traer. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Beverly enjoyed sewing, cross stitching, baking cookies and bars. She also enjoyed gardening and canning. Beverly liked to attend her children’s and grandchildren’s activities and sporting events and was a Minnesota Twins and Iowa Hawkeye fan.

Survivors include one daughter, Julie (Ernie) Cufr of Traer; five sons, Steve (Jill) Hoeg of Prior Lake, MN, Robert “Bob” (Andrea) Hoeg of Waukee, Michael “Mike” Hoeg of Channahon, IL, Edward “Ed” (Brenda) Hoeg of Traer, and Jeffrey “Jeff” (Lori) Hoeg of Traer; seventeen grandchildren; two great-granddaughters and one great-grandchild on the way; two brothers, Jim Keese of Iowa City, and Larry “Butch” Keese of Dysart; one sister, Shirley Wolfgram of Traer; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Duwane in December 22, 2012; one brother, Jack Keese; two sisters-in-law, Rose Keese and Betty Keese; and one brother-in-law, Milt Wolfgram.
