Levi Beenken

Levi Ryan Beenken was born on November 7, 2001, in Waterloo, the son of Marc Beenken and Angie Beenken. He graduated from North Tama High School in 2020. While in high school, he was the FFA President, a member of the Tama County 4-H, 4-H County Council, Mid-Iowa Youth Beef Team, and the Iowa Junior Gelbvieh Association. He was employed by B & H Ag Services. Levi enjoyed being with his family, farming, hanging out with his friends, bon fires, riding dirt bikes, being with his girlfriend and her family, helping his grandfather, Jim Beenken, on the farm, taking pictures, welding, and collecting farm toys with his brother, Drew. His favorite time was time spent in a tractor. Levi died at the age of 18 on August 22, 2020, in an ATV accident. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Ryan Busch and an uncle, David Beenken. Levi is survived by his father, Marc (Jody Stover) Beenken of Gladbrook; his mother, Angie (Gerry Clemen) of Buckingham; two sisters, Aubree (Zach Bobb) Beenken and Alyssa “AJ” Beenken; two brothers, Andrew “Drew” Beenken and Caiden Beenken; grandparents, Paula Busch of Kansas City and Jim and Jeanne Beenken of Buckingham; girlfriend, Paige Jergens; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A visitation will be held tentatively at Overton Funeral Home on Friday, September 11 from 4-8 p.m. A service is set tentatively for Saturday, September 12 at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Paul Catholic Church. Burial will be at Crystal Township Cemetery in rural Garwin.
