Gary Hach

Gary Lee Hach, age 62, born June 2, 1958 in Waterloo Iowa and passed away August 23, 2020 in Grapevine Texas. He was born to Irene and Wilbert Hach and was raised on the family farm. Growing up on the farm he learned the value of hard work and persistence. He spent many a night with his hunting dogs trapping and running the countryside with his pack. He shared a love of basketball and baseball with his father. Gary was high school all American in basketball and state recognized for his guitar playing. Gary often spoke of laying in the corn crib with his dogs on a rainy day listening to the peacefulness of farm life. Gary and his mom shared a love of gardening and spent many hours tending to her garden. Gary had three very close friends, Dale, Brian, and Steve since grade school that were constant figures in his life. The four of them would meet in Las Vegas during the World Series for the last 30 years.

Gary received his Civil Engineering degree at the University of Texas in Arlington in 1988. He graduated with high honors. He was part of the Chi Epsilon Civil Engineering Honor Society and was chosen as a Distinguished Senior of the Civil Engineering Department in 1988. In 1990, he received his Juris Doctor from Southern Methodist University Law School. Additionally he studied International Law at Oxford University in the United Kingdom. In 2000, he was admitted and qualified as attorney and counselor to the Supreme Court of the United States. He also was admitted to the United States Court of Appeals that same year. He served as associate Judge for the City of Southlake and surrounding communities. He founded Hach Law in Grapevine Texas.

Gary married Missy Macaluso on May 28, 1994 and they began their life together. Gary was a proud father to his daughters, Tyr and Rylee and how they have become strong and independent women with such loving hearts. They shared their love of animals with their father and would spend many hours fostering, caring for and raising their dogs and cats.

Gary is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Missy; daughters, Tyr and Rylee Hach; sisters, Deb, Barbara and Bonnie. He was a cherished brother-in-law to Mark and Cristina Macaluso, Peter and Terry Macaluso. An adored uncle to Joseph, Andrea, Ellen, and Mary. One of Gary’s greatest joys was when he married his favorite nephew, Joseph, to Catalina Zuniga in November of 2019. Gary’s loyal dogs include Ranger, Honey, Hamilton, Kimba, and Rebel.

Preceded in death by his parents, Wilbert and Irene Hach and his maternal and paternal grandparents who welcomed him home.

Gary was very proud of his Czech heritage and by the grace of God survived being married to an Italian woman from New Jersey.

Family will receive friends from 6 pm to 8 pm, Thursday, August 27, 2020 at Keller’s Old Town Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held at 2 pm, Friday, August 28, 2020 at Keller’s Old Town Funeral Chapel, 2020 Keller Parkway, Keller, Texas 76248.
