Evelyn Ina Zhorne

Evelyn Ina Zhorne was born on March 15, 1934, in Estherville, the daughter of John and Martha (Doerfel) Fowler. On January 12, 1972, she was united in marriage to Melvin C. Zhorne. The couple farmed together for many years. Evelyn was a farmwife and also was a cook at the nursing home in Traer. She enjoyed crafting and spending time with her family. Evelyn died at the age of 86 on November 1, 2020, at her daughter’s house in Waterloo. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sons, Douglas Elmer Kinkade and Mark Leslie Kinkade; and 12 brothers and sisters. Evelyn is survived by 5 children, Gary (Sue) Kinkade of Waterloo, Nancy (Eddie) Slutter of Waterloo, David (Brenda) Kinkade of Le Grande, Martha Anne Anderson of Lone Tree, and Barb (Craig) Erickson of Traer; a sister, Nellie Phillips of Minnesota; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; and a special friend, Donald Schubert.
