Wilma Holub

Wilma Irene Holub, 87, of rural Buckingham, died on Thursday, November 12, 2020 at UnityPoint Health – Allen Hospital at Waterloo. She was born on April 24, 1933 in Grinnell, the daughter of Homer and Mae (Stahl) Sears. She graduated from Geneseo High School.

Wilma married Norman Holub, February 14, 1953 at the Geneseo Methodist Church. He preceded her in death May 21, 2002.

She was a homemaker and worked at Raggedy Ann and Andy Preschool for over 20 years. She was a 4H leader for several years, she enjoyed being outdoors, was an avid reader, was a “fashionista” and enjoyed the finer things in life, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Wilma is survived by: daughter, Norma (Brian) Neubauer‚ Waterloo‚ IA; son, Craig (Jeanne) Holub‚ Buckingham; granddaughters, Ashley (Nick) Best‚ Columbia‚ MO and Nicole (Kevin) Gast‚ Saint Charles; grandsons, Cade (Kelly) Holub‚ Buckingham‚ and Cordt (Krista) Holub‚ Dysart; great-granddaughters, Calina Best and Irene Gast; and sisters-in-law, Beth Sears and Shirley Sears.

She is preceded in death by husband, Norman Holub; four brothers, Arthur “Art” Sears, Donald Sears, Edgar “Bud” Sears, and Kenneth “Ken” Sears; four sisters, Ruth Temple, Rhoda Wilkinson, Dorothy Elliott, and Lois Danker.

Private Family Services will be held with burial in Geneseo Cemetery.

Memorials may be directed to the Calvary Baptist Church in Dysart.
