Blake Pearson

Blake Lora Pearson, 47, of Clutier, died on April 2, 2021, at his home. He was born on November 18, 1973, in Waterloo, the son of Gary and Carol (Wiebbecke) Pearson. Blake graduated from North Tama High School in 1992 and received a degree in Carpentry from Hawkeye Community College in 1993. He married Shelly Hubbard in 1994, but divorced in 2006. Blake worked for Dostal Construction for a time and then worked on his own. He then worked for John Deere in Waterloo for over 14 years until his health forced him to retire. Blake joined the Clutier Volunteer Fire Department in 1998 and received his Fire Fighter 1 Certificate in 2001. He served as Fire Chief from 2005 until 2020. Blake enjoyed deer hunting with his friends, playing cribbage and pepper, riding around town in his golf cart, and watching NASCAR. He was preceded in death by his mom, Carol; a sister, LeAnn Watts; and two brothers, Calvin and Troy. Blake is survived by his dad, Gary (Linda) Pearson of Clutier; four children, Jacob (Alysia Young) Pearson, Tessa Pearson, Cole Pearson, and Taylor Wanatee; four grandchildren, Abel, Alexa, Peyton, and Hadley; and many nieces and nephews.
