Beverly Scott

Beverly “Bev” Ann Scott was born on January 24, 1942, in Brandon, the daughter of Milo and Agnes (Gunn) Kearns. Bev attended school in Brandon and Hazelton. On February 29, 1960, she was united in marriage to Carl Scott. The couple made their home in La Porte City before moving to Dysart in 1988. Bev took care of her family and also babysat for other families. She enjoyed playing Bingo, bird watching, Puzzle books, flowers, playing cards, and spending any minute she could with her family. Bev died at the age of 79 on June 16, 2021, at UnityPoint Allen Hospital in Waterloo. She was preceded in death by her parents; 7 siblings, Richard, Russell, Ed, John, Lee, Mildred, and Nadine; 8 grandchildren in infancy; and 8 great grandchildren in infancy. Bev is survived by her husband; 11 children, Carl Scott Jr, Harold (Mari Jo) Scott, Jim Scott, Billy Scott, Darla Miller, Danny (Denise) Scott, Deanna (Jarrod) Wellner, Dennis Scott, Dana (Joey) Doty, Danille (Chad) Hansen, and Donald (Amber) Scott; 5 siblings, Norma Jean Young, Diane Lambirth, Loretta Mickens, Kenneth Kearns, and Clarence Kearns; 37 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and a great great grandchild. There will be a visitation on Friday, June 25, 2021, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM, at Overton Funeral Home in Dysart.
