Vernon James Strachota

Vernon James Strachota, age 76, of Lead Hill, Arkansas, formerly of Traer, Iowa, passed away Sunday, July 18, 2021. He was born September 28, 1944, in Waterloo, Iowa to Milvoy Strachota and Minnie (Rebik) Strachota.

He was married to Marlys Nation and they had two daughters together. In 2007, Vernon was married to Cynthia Conner. He was a faithful member of the Catholic Church. Vern enjoyed fishing, hunting, all things John Deere and spending time with his friends and family. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

He is proceeded in death by his parents; two sisters, Marilyn and JoAnn; special aunt, Libbie Podhajsky and son-in-law Jeffrey Austin. Vernon is survived by his wife, Cynthia (Conner) Strachota of the home; three daughters, Sheila Austin Minnehan (Dave) of Rogersville, Missouri, Renee Graves of Nixa, Missouri and Amber Theis (Jeff) of Hiawatha, Iowa; one son, Jason Pape of Lead Hill, Arkansas; seven grandchildren, Britni Dalton (Josh), Blake Austin, Ty Graves (Leah), Tawni Rambo (Trey), Avery Theis, Asher Theis and Elyse Theis; eight great-grandchildren and one blessing on the way.

Memorial service will be 10:00 AM, Friday, July 23, 2021, at Roller-Christeson Funeral Home Chapel
