Larry David Wrage

Larry David Wrage, 73, of Waterloo, passed away on January 13, 2022, at MercyOne Hospital in Waterloo. He was born on November 16, 1948, in Waterloo, the son of Ralph and Millie (Gustin) Wrage. Larry graduated from Geneseo High School in 1967. He was drafted into the Army and served during the Vietnam War. After his honorable discharge, Larry worked as a carpenter for many years in Waterloo, Cedar Falls, Des Moines and Iowa Falls. He also worked at Alter’s Metal Recycling, retiring at the age of 62. On May 28, 2005, Larry married Lynn Rose. She passed away on February 13, 2018. He loved fishing, listening to music and watching westerns on TV. Larry was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a sister, Bonnie Jo Green; and a brother-in-law, Jerry Newell. Larry is survived by 3 sisters, Carol Newell of Apache, Oklahoma, Barbara (Roy) Wright of Little Rock, Arkansas and Nancy (Myron) Engelhardt of Waterloo; a brother-in-law, Glen Rose of Waterloo; a sister-in-law, Kathy Rose of Hopkins, Minnesota; a step daughter, Ranella (Rob) Rose of Cedar Falls; 2 step sons, Marcel Rose and Franklin (Janessa) Rose of Davenport; many step grandchildren and great grandchildren; and step nieces and nephews. Private services will be held at a later date. He will be buried in Buckingham Cemetery near Traer. Please direct memorials to Larry’s family.
