Beverly Jean Vojtech

Beverly Jean Vojtech was born on August 12, 1930, in Garwin, the daughter of William and Luella (Siemens) Thede. She went to Perry No. 4 Wilson Country School through the 8th grade and graduated from North Tama High School in 1948. Beverly married Marvin Vojtech on November 24, 1948, at St. Vaclav Church in Clutier. They were blessed with 5 children, Donald, Patricia, Robert, James, and Kathryn. The couple farmed all of their married life south and west of Traer, moving to Traer in 1997. Beverly was a CNA at Sunrise Hill Care Center for 12 years and also cared for elderly individuals in Traer. She sold Avon products, earning her diamond pin in sales. She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church and Rosary Society. Beverly enjoyed knitting and crocheting the Lord’s Prayer. She had huge strawberry patches, raised and dressed spring fries, her apple pies were a delight, and was a devoted mother and grandmother. Beverly and Marvin were married for 67 years in 2015. Beverly died at the age of 91 on January 27, 2022, at Sunrise Hill Care Center. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin; her parents; and an infant sister, Joyce. Beverly is survived by her children; son-in-law, Jamie Allen; granddaughter, Brianna Allen; a sister, Jeanette Van Metre; 3 nephews; and a niece. Private family services will be held with burial in the St. Paul Catholic Church Cemetery.
