Tracey Miller

Tracey Lynn Miller, of Ankeny and formerly of Clutier, passed away from complications of diabetes at home in Ankeny on March 27, 2022. Graveside Services will take place at Oneida Cemetery in rural Clutier on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at 1:00 PM with a luncheon following at the American Legion Hall in Clutier.

Tracey was born on May 19, 1963, the daughter of Jean Kosnar Miller and Art Miller.

She attended school in Bagley, Iowa and Guthrie Center, Iowa before moving to Clutier and graduated from North Tama High School in the Class of 1981. She attended Truman State University, and received an Associate’s Degree from Kirkwood Community College in Occupational Therapy.

Tracey worked for many years as a nanny in different places such as New York City, Boston and Baltimore. After returning to Iowa, she worked as the activity director at the Sunrise Hill Care Center in Traer for several years before moving to Ankeny. At the time of her death, she was working for the Rehabilitation Center of Des Moines.

Tracey enjoyed traveling in the United States and Europe. She enjoyed cooking and had an adventurous palate, liked a good joke and loved the Iowa State Fair, attending several times a year. She enjoyed spending time with family, and was famous for organizing games at Christmas time. She had a very giving spirit and was always willing to help anyone.

She is survived by her mother, Jean of Ankeny; her sisters, Connie (Rick) Neilson of Overland Park, KS, Carol (Jim) Miller-Horlacher of Lenexa, KS; her brother, John Miller of Des Moines; along with nephews and nieces, Erick Neilson of San Antonio, TX, Brynn Neilson of Manchester, NH, Courtney Neilson of Overland Park, KS, Nick Horlacher and Tate Horlacher of Lenexa, KS.

She was preceded in death by her father, Art Miller; and her beloved pets, Mitzi and Kitzi.
