Kaye Lynne Konicek

Kaye Lynne Konicek, 74, of Traer, passed away on Sunday, August 28th in her home after a short battle with cancer. Kaye was born on August 21st 1948 in Vinton, Iowa. She was the daughter of William and Veronica (Kelly) Hite. She was raised in Dysart, Iowa, and attended Dysart- Geneseo School, graduating in the class 1966.

On May 21st, 1977, Kaye married Gary Konicek. Her and Gary lived in Traer for 7 years, prior to moving to Naples, Florida, where they resided for 35 years. Kaye worked as an in-home nurses aid for over 20 years. After retirement, Kaye and Gary moved back to Traer, where they have resided for the last 3 years. Kaye lost the love of her life, Gary, on November 30th, 2021.

Kaye was a loving wife, mother to her two daughters, grandmother, great grandmother and friend to everyone she met. She had a love for softball, golfing, bowling, but she mostly loved having fun and spending time with her family and friends. Her humor always had the room laughing and made for many special memories that we will all cherish.

Survivors include her two daughters, Darcy (Brad) Rund, of Traer, IA and Kerri (Danny) Hogan, of Cape Coral, FL; 5 grandchildren: Ashton (Chris) Wilson, Morgan (Mike) Ellis, Allie Rund, Cody Jensen and Lucas Jensen; 6 great grandchildren: Haydn, Myer and Rhet Wilson, Briar Bandy and Haisley Ellis and Cash Jensen; one brother and two sisters, Raea Struve, of Dysart, Karole (Mike) Reid, of Iowa City, and Larry Hite, of Boston; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her husband Gary Konicek, parents and parents-in-law and a brother-in-law.
