Born on December 17, 1947, in Des Moines, she was the eldest child born to Clifford and Joan (Wilcox) McKibben. After graduating from the Marshalltown High School in 1966, she went on to earn her certificate for Dental Assistant in 1971.

On August 4, 1973, at the Elim Lutheran Church in Marshalltown, she was united in marriage to Gary Boldt. They were blessed with three children. In 1975, they moved to a farm southwest of Traer. In 1999, they moved to Gladbrook when his health required they retire from farming.

Hardworking and dedicated, Suzanne began her career at Smitty’s Grocery Store, where she learned how to bake cakes (a skill she would go on to use most of her adult life, baking cakes for every birthday, wedding and graduation of her family and many friends). She then worked as a Nutrition Aide at the Iowa State Extension Office in Toledo and Fareway, where she retired after 18 years. Suzanne was very involved in her community and enjoyed volunteering, especially for Matchsticks. She and Gary were members of Iowa Pork Producers and Jaycees. She was also a faithful member of St. Luke Lutheran Church and the Gladbrook Women’s Club.

Suzanne was a collector of many things and her favorite holidays were Easter and Halloween. She loved baking and had quite a collection of pans and cookie cutters. More than anything, she adored her family and spending time with friends. She will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her son, David “Spanky” (Mandy), of Traer; grandsons Clayton and Lane and granddaughter McKenna (Tyler) Ward; great grandson, Drew Ward; siblings- Janet (Ed) Jordebrek, of Clemons; Jane McKibben, of Cedar Rapids; Jill (Christopher) Hickson, of Kenosha, WI; Joel (Anne) McKibben, of West Des Moines; Jon McKibben, of Waukee, and James (Brandy) McKibben, of Marshalltown; brother-in-law Fred (Clara) Boldt, of Toledo, and sister-in-law Linda (Ron) Beenken, of Sheldon; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband Gary in January of 2020 and a few short months later, her son Mark, daughter Amy in 2013, and her parents.
