Dorothy Mae Yuska, 87

Dorothy Mae Yuska, 87, of Traer, died peacefully at her home on February 22, 2023. She was born on January 30, 1936, the daughter of George and Blanche (Uchytil) Kubalek.

Dorothy attended country school Carol #9 and graduated from Toledo High School in 1953. On June 4, 1956, she was united in marriage to Glenn Yuska at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church near Traer. The couple made their home on Glenn’s family’s farm.

Dorothy was a devoted farmwife and helped with everything on the farm. She also worked at the Reinbeck Canning Factory. She was an active member of St. Paul Catholic Church and helped with numerous funeral lunches. Dorothy enjoyed picnics, gardening, fishing, chickens, sheep, ponies, dogs, cats, bailing, spending time with her grandkids and great grandkids, and making sure everything was fed on the farm.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and a son-in-law, Larry Dvorak.

Dorothy is survived by 4 daughters, Nancy (Donald Weiermann) Dvorak of Chelsea, Deb (Gerald) Schlichting of Traer, Penny (Earl) Peterson of Heiskell, TN, and Jean (Dennis) Wilson of Traer; a son, Dan Yuska of Traer; a sister, Betty Kubalek of Toledo; 7 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.

The visitation was on Monday, February 27, 2023, at Overton Funeral Home in Traer with a Rosary Service at 3:45. Mass of Christian Burial was on Tuesday, February 28, 2023, at 10:30 AM, at St. Paul Catholic Church in Traer, followed by the burial at St. Wenceslaus Church Cemetery near Clutier.
