Stanley Charles Ledvina, 92

Stanley Charles Ledvina, 92, of Chelsea, IA, passed away peacefully March 7, 2023, at Premier Estates, Toledo, IA.

Stanley was born March 17, 1931, to Charles and Agnes (Herejk) Ledvina in Irving, IA. He attended school at a school house in Irving, before working the family farm with his parents. On July 19, 1958, Stanley married Elsie E. Duchacek. Together they lived and worked on the Duchacek family farm. Following Elsie’s passing in 1982, Stanley married Alma (Wagner) Benda. Stanley continued to work the Duchacek family farm until retirement, and later moved to assisted living in Toledo, IA.

Stanley was a well-known, respected farmer who embraced his Bohemia background by talking Czech and loved visiting with family and friends. He enjoyed fishing, hunting (especially mushrooms) and was an avid bowler; winning many trophies. He also liked playing cards, going to the casino and taking road trips.

Stanley is survived by his loving sister, Charlene Hanus; brothers, Eugene and Richard Ledvina; sister, Mary Ann Douglas; special niece and nephew, Jan and Scott Ledvina, of Cedar Rapids; step-daughter, Jeannette (Clint) Graham, and step-grandson, Scott Graham, both of Bondurant; along with many more loving nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Elsie (1982) and Alma (2015); siblings, Esther Hanson, Edward Ledvina and William Ledvina.

Visitation was 3-6 p.m. Tuesday, March 14, 2023, at the Hrabak-Neuhaus Funeral Service.

Funeral Service was 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 15th at the funeral home. Burial will take place at National Cemetery Vining, IA.
