Pauline Dvorak

Pauline M. Dvorak was born on May 27, 1923, on the family farm near Toledo, the daughter of Charles and Mary (Dostal) Nekola. She attended country school in rural Toledo through the 8th grade. On October 18, 1949, Pauline was united in marriage to Leo Francis Dvorak at the Immaculate Conception Church in Clutier. The couple farmed near Clutier for many years. Pauline was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church in Traer and enjoyed baking kolaches, rollicky, and was known for her delicious poppyseed buchty. She also loved gardening, flowers, crocheting, playing bingo, playing cards and going on bus trips.

Pauline died at the age of 100 on November 5, 2023, at HallMar Village in Cedar Rapids. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Gerald; a sister, Agnes Kalina and a brother, Milo Nekola.

Pauline is survived by her son, Dennis; 2 sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews.

The Mass of Christian Burial was on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at 10:30 AM, at St. Paul Catholic Church in Traer. The burial will follow at St. Wenceslaus Church Cemetery near Clutier.
