Joyce Hite

TRAER-Joyce Eileen Hite, 85, of Bettendorf and formerly of Traer, passed away Sunday, November 26, 2023 at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf. Funeral Services will be held Friday, December 1, 2023 at 11:00 AM at the Traer United Methodist Church with Rev. Mark Keefer officiating. Interment will follow at Buckingham Cemetery in rural Traer. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10-11 AM at the Traer United Methodist Church. The service will be live streamed on Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home & Cremation Services Facebook page.

Joyce was born on December 16, 1937, in Marshalltown, Iowa, the daughter of Harold and Alida (Billerbeck) Sievers.

She attended the Garwin High School for two years and graduated from Traer High School in 1955.

On September 30, 1956, she was united in marriage to Charles “Bill” Hite at the Traer United Methodist Church. Joyce was an office administrator for Bauch Law in Traer for twenty years.

She was a member of the Traer United Methodist Church and Dorcas Circle, Traer Country Club and American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing golf and cards. After Bill passed, Joyce traveled quite a bit and saw a lot of different places in the world. Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family. Joyce spent the last four years enjoying senior life at The Fountains in Bettendorf.

Survivors include her children, Jana (Dennis) Coots of LeClaire, Joel (Diana) Hite of Venice, FL and Marcia (Joe) Cifaldo of Warren, ME; her grandchildren, Michael and Jay Cifaldo, Taylor (Derek) Fox, Kelsey Coots, Trevor and Tyler Hite; great-grandchildren, Brooklyn and Karson Fox and Gregory Cifaldo; brother, Don Sievers of Carlisle; sister-in-law, Bonnie Sievers of Marshalltown; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Bill in 2005; brother, Bill Sievers; grandson, Greg Cifaldo; and sister-in-law, Mary Sievers.
