Warren Dale was born November 14, 1945, in Ft. Meyers, FL the son of Leland Wendell “Dutch” and Roberta LaRue (Howard) Sealock. Following his father’s service in the United States Army Air Force, Warren arrived in a wicker basket to the family farm near Traer, Iowa. The second of four children, Warren graduated from Traer-Clutier High School in 1963. He worked at his uncle’s gas station in Cedar Rapids before enlisting into the United States Air Force. He would serve for 4 years as a jet aircraft mechanic, spending a year in Vietnam before his honorable discharge as a Staff Sergeant in 1968. At home, Warren found his love for farming beside his dad on the family farm. In the early 80’s, Warren began his education at ISU in Agricultural Business, graduating in 1986. This would lead him to Texas A&M, where he would serve as the Manager of Farm Operations, raising cotton, corn, beans and 300 head of cattle. Before his retirement in 2001, Warren had altered tillage and irrigation methods and added new crops to increase yields tremendously. Life brought Warren to Northern Iowa where he worked at AgAdvantage, later farming alongside the Plagge family.

Warren’s life was a colorful journey, deeply rooted in his love for the farm, fun and family. From coon hunting to golf, bowling, cribbage and chicken foot, he embraced every moment. An intelligent man with a heart of gold, Warren was a devoted presence for his children–Sheri, Scott, Mendy, Tyke and Jacy–always cheering at their games and sharing cherished family gatherings. A sports enthusiast, he ardently supported ISU Cyclones, Texas A&M Aggies, the Cowboys and Chiefs. He was a proud member of the Traer American Legion, served in many capacities with the Cattlemen’s Association, was a longtime booster of ISU and enjoyed warm days at the Veteran’s Memorial Golf Club in Clear Lake. Warren and Kym shared the last 17 years together, enjoying Clear Lake and the Surf Ballroom. “Dad,” “Grandpa” and “Uncle Warren” were more than titles–they were an identity etched in the joy and love he shared with those who held him dear.

Those left to tell his story are his love, Kym Barrett, of Clear Lake; beloved children: Sheri Sealock, of Ankeny, Scott (Jill) Sealock, of Prior Lake, MN, Mendy Krebs, of Nevada, IA, Tyke (Kiley) Sealock, of Cedar Park, TX, and Jacy Sealock, of Killeen, TX; Jennifer (Wes) Bass, Jason Barrett, Nathan (Kacey Kingry) Barrett and Kylie (Nigel) Johnson; grandchildren: Millie, Adam, Lily, Olivia, James, Drew, Kennedey, Lauryen, Roman, Madeline, Ben, Mav and Eylnn; sisters, Colleen (Gini) Sealock and Cindy Gabrielson; as well as many who lovingly know him as “Uncle Warren” and many extended family members.
