Marilyn Lineberry, 88

Marilyn G. Lineberry, 88, passed away peacefully in Green Valley, Arizona on Dec. 23, 2023. Marilyn was born on Nov. 30, 1935 near Salisbury, Missouri, the daughter of Wallace and Iris Gatterman. She married Fred Lineberry on Aug. 16, 1958.

Marilyn lived on a farm near Salisbury and graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the University of Missouri where she met her loving husband, Fred, of 61 years. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and a 50-year member and past president of P.E.O.

Marilyn spent most of her career as a Home Economics teacher at North Tama school in Traer, IA. In 1993, upon Fred’s retirement, they moved to Bella Vista, AR. They then moved to Green Valley in 2004 and lived at La Posada, a retirement community, since 2014. She loved to sing in church, travel, play bridge and entertain with friends.

Marilyn is survived by two sons; Scott (Merrijo) of Clive IA and Grant (Susan) of Naples FL, three grandsons; Kristopher (Sarah) of Denver CO, Corey (Erica) of West Des Moines IA and Jack of Stamford CT and three great grandchildren; Eliza – daughter of Corey (Erica) and Darius and Alexander – sons of Kris (Sarah). She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred, her parents and her sister, Marie Phelps.
