Larry Hite

Larry D. Hite, age 77 of Boston, Massachusetts passed away on February 28, 2024, in Naples, Florida following a sudden illness. He was born on October 14, 1946 son of Bill and Bonnie Hite of Dysart, Iowa.

He graduated from Dysart-Geneseo High School and the University of Iowa College of Education. He taught school in Brussels, Belgium, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and lastly, middle school in Newton, MA for over two decades prior to his retirement. Larry was dedicated to education and positively impacted the lives of many students throughout his career.

In his free time, Larry was an avid sports fan, supporting his beloved Boston teams and the Iowa Hawkeyes. He also enjoyed their time spent on Cape Cod, winters in Naples and the hundreds of books read on his well worn Kindle.

Larry is survived by Jim O’Connor of Boston, MA, his sisters, Raea Struve of Dysart, Karole (Mike) Reid of Iowa City, and 5 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Kaye Konicek, brother-in-law Gary Konicek, and brother-in-law Don Struve.

Private services are being handled by Overton Funeral Home in Dysart, Iowa.

Larry will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
