Dolores Yuska
Dolores Yuska passed away May 2, 2024, at Sunrise Hill Care Center in Traer, IA. She was born April 14, 1923, to Fred and Anna (Kladivo) Kvidera. She graduated from Traer High School in 1941. On September 17, 1945, Dolores was married to Frank Yuska at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Clutier, IA.
Dolores and Frank began farming near Buckingham, IA and continued to do so until retirement. Dolores enjoyed gardening, canning and baking. She also spent many hours gathering information for her genealogy project. Family reunions gave her a chance to make updates to her project and to spend quality time with her cousins. Dolores enjoyed sharing milestones and celebrations with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved playing cards and taught her grandchildren how to play as well. Dolores was also an avid postage stamp collector and Dolores and Frank enjoyed being a part of the Polka club.
Dolores was a member of St Paul Catholic Church, Traer, IA and the American Legion Auxiliary and the FCSLA fraternal Society.
Dolores was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; son and daughter-in-law, Wilfred and Linda Yuska; her sister and brother-in-law, Pauline and Edward Baker and her brother and-sister-in-law, Ferd and Rose Kvidera.
Dolores is survived by her sons, Joe (Deb) Yuska, of Waterloo, Karl (Cathy)Yuska, of Urbandale, and Arnie Yuska, of Waterloo; grandchildren: Paul (Maria) Yuska, Angela (Joe) Brown, Ashley Yuska, Ryan Yuska, Brenda (Robert) Delsing, Christine Yuska and Matthew (Amy) Yuska; step grandson Jeff Barnhart. She is also survived by 11 great grandchildren and 4 step great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be directed towards the family for a memorial to be determined at a later date.
Service for Dolores will be held Friday, May 10, 2024, at 11:00 am at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Traer, IA, with burial at Blessing Cemetery in Hudson, IA. Visitation will be held May 9, 2024, 4:00-7:00pm at Overton Funeral Home.
