Belva Cherry

It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of our loving mom and wife,

Belva J Cherry.

Belva was born December 5, 1933, on the family farm in Tama county, Iowa to parents Marlin and Beth Wieben.

After graduating from Dysart High School in 1951, she moved to Cedar Rapids, Iowa, where she met Ronald Cherry at an A&W root beer stand. They were married in 1954 and had 3 children.

Ron and Belva began an exciting and interesting life of moving throughout the United States for Ron’s career, settling into Tucson, Arizona for the last 44 years. While in Tucson she enjoyed working as a preschool teacher at The Beginning school.

After retirement they spent summers at their vacation home on the Oregon coast, calling themselves “rainbirds”. They enjoyed jazz festivals and attending UofA basketball games for over 30 years. She also loved quilting, cooking, feeding birds and caring for her family.

She is preceded in death by her parents and daughter Veronica (Debra) Cherry.

Survived by her loving family, her husband of 70 years, Ronald Cherry; daughter, Diane Bentley and her husband Neil of Oro Valley, AZ.; son, Randall Cherry of Florence, Oregon.

Please donate to the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer’s Association in her name.
