Ruth Rasmussen

Ruth L. Rasmussen was born December 1, 1923, in Gladbrook, Iowa, daughter of Harry and Irene (Reese) Redfearn. She was united in marriage to Cecil “Razzy” Rasmussen on December 1, 1945, in Hudson, Iowa, he preceded her in death on June 8, 2010. Ruth was employed in Reinbeck sorting corn for seven years, at Angel Grocery for nine years and worked for people cleaning and taking care of the elderly too. She was a collector of salt and pepper shakers for years.

Ruth passed away on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at Sunrise Hill Care Center, at the age of 100. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Peggy McNeill; granddaughter, Dee Dee Kisner; great-granddaughter, Korrina LaFond; twin sister, Ruby Rhoades and a sister, Katherine Krejichi. Ruth is survived by four grandchildren: Angie (Brent) O’Brien, Missy (Nick) Delahoussaye, Regina (Chris) Fennern and Bill (Meggen) McNeill; 18 great grandchildren; 22 great-great grandchildren; two great-great-great grandchildren and a sister, Zonya Collum and lots of nieces, nephews and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family.

Visitation: Tuesday, October 1, 2024, from 1:00 to 2:00 pm at the United Presbyterian Church, 307 Walnut St, Traer, Iowa.

Funeral: Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at 2:00 pm, at the United Presbyterian Church.

Burial: At A Later Date.
