Leon Podhajsky

Leon Joseph Podhajsky, 57, of Olathe, Kansas, passed away on August 19, 2026, at Advent Health Lenexa City Center hospital in Lenexa, KS following a brief illness. No services were held.

Leon was born on January 13, 1969, in Waterloo, Iowa, to Loren and Laura (Tompkins) Podhajsky. His first five years were spent on the family farm SW of Traer until his parents divorced. He then moved to Marshalltown, Iowa and later Vacaville, California where he graduated from Vacaville High school. He was employed by Gill Sign Company of Lenexa, KS.

He enjoyed spending time with family at gatherings and holidays and will be deeply missed.

Leon is survived by his mother, Laura Hewitt, of Vacaville, CA, sister, Lynne Martinez, of Vacaville, CA; step-mom, Cathy Pierce, of Olathe, KS, half-brother, Brett Podhajsky, of Olathe, KS, step-sister, Dr. Lindsay Podhajsky, of Olathe, KS, aunt and uncle, Marcella and Bill Pults, of Colorado Springs, Colorado and other relatives in Marshalltown, Iowa.

In eternal life, Leon is reunited with his father, Loren Podhajsky, grandparents, Alva & Eleanor Tompkins and Emil Podhajsky and Lillian Podhajsky Kucera.
