The Sires Sentinel: A Busy and Eventful Summer in Our District

Dave Sires (R-Cedar Falls).

Summer is a special time in Senate District 38. Parade season is in full swing, and Lisa and I have truly enjoyed visiting the wonderful communities across our district. Every stop has been a reminder of how proud we can be of our amazing towns and the people who make them so special.

One highlight of the season was welcoming RAGBRAI through Cedar Falls. The event was a huge success, showcasing the strength and hospitality of our community. I’m grateful for the countless volunteers, organizers, and residents who helped make it such a memorable day.

Even though the legislature is out of session, my work at the Capitol continues. I’ve been traveling to Des Moines regularly to assist with constituent concerns and collaborate with staff on future legislation. Making sure your voices are heard remains my top priority, and I’m thankful for the opportunity to keep working on issues that matter to our district.

Of course, summer also brings time with family and I especially enjoy being with the grandkids. And while some senators have interns, I’ve got two of the best four-legged “assistants” helping me along the way: Jack and Jill.

As we close out summer and look toward fall, I’m grateful for the chance to serve Senate District 38. Thank you for continuing to share your ideas, concerns, and encouragement. It’s an honor to represent you.
