Tama County Relay for Life

The American Cancer Society Relay For Life is a life-changing event that gives everyone in Tama County (and around the world) a chance to celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against the disease. We ask everyone to remember that a survivor on a cancer journey does not have the luxury of taking a day off from their fight. They have to take treatment, even when they don’t feel like they have the energy; they have to eat even when they know they may get sick. It is for these reasons that we ask you to give up one night to honor someone you know touched by cancer and help keep HOPE alive that we are creating a world with less cancer. At Relay we create a party-like atmosphere where team members camp out on the surrounding grounds to enjoy music, food, fun, entertainment, and activities, while celebrating with fellow teammates and participants. Money is raised with team fundraisers and individual donations from family, friends, companies or corporations.

When: June 14th (1:00 pm 10:00 pm)

Where: South Tama High School Track, Tama

Who: Everyone is welcome! Athletes and non-athletes join teams of individuals representing clubs, corporations, organizations, neighborhoods, and families at this fun, community oriented event.

Why: The money raised helps support American Cancer Society programs in research, education, advocacy, and service – locally, statewide, and nationally.

The American Cancer Society thanks everyone for helping us create a world with less cancer and more birthdays! We could not do it without your support!
