Local business owner an “Invest In She” finalist
Molly Clubb, Traer, is a founding partner in Hired Hand Software which has been chosen as a statewide finalist for the “Invest In She” competition to be held Thursday, September 18, 2014 at the Paramount Theatre in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Clubb, along with her business partner Jaymie Feldmann (Cedar Falls), will present to a panel of 4 judges in a competition to secure funding to advance their company. One of only six businesses chosen to present, Clubb and Feldmann will have 3 minutes to pitch Hired Hand Software followed by 5 minutes of Q&A from the judges. $40,000 worth of funding is up for grabs.
The Invest in She competition came about due partially to the fact that Iowa ranks last in the nation for the cumulative growth in the number of women-owned firms and their revenue and employment while over 50% of Iowa’s population is female. Hired Hand is a perfect fit for the competition as they are not only female owned but specialize in two industries that are lacking female participating – agriculture and technology.
Hired Hand Software has been in business for over 5 years and currently serves farms and ranches specializing in the breeding of cattle, deer and horses as well as agriculture related businesses. Hired Hand is a custom designed software solution allowing breeders with minimal computer knowledge to easily update their websites 100% on their own while simultaneously privately tracking important health or management data. Hired Hand provides an easy way for breeders to tie into valuable pedigree and production record data while marketing their program on-line to increase private treaty sales. If selected for the Invest in She contest funding, Clubb says that they plan to expand Hired Hand into other breeds such as Elk and Dogs.
Molly is the wife of Brandon Clubb, Traer and together they have three children – Calia Brody and Cooper. Brandon is the High School PE Teacher and Boys Basketball Coach at North Tama County High School, Traer. Molly is a past President of the Traer Chamber of Commerce. She also owns and operates Mo Co. Creative Services, an advertising agency, also located in Traer.
