Tracie Weekley of Dysart got quite a nice surprise a few weeks ago when she found out she won a vacation to Florida this December from KRNA 94.1 out of Cedar Rapids. Tracie grew up in Dysart and moved away after high school. She and her five children: Noah, Anna, Ella, Olivia, and Cooper moved back to Dysart about three years ago. Tracie works at the Dysart State Bank, is a volunteer coach, and also delivers meals on wheels to people in the community.

Tracie grew up listening to KRNA 94.1 her whole childhood, and she stated it has always been one of her favorite local radio stations. She spent weeks signing up for the trip online via different social media websites and emails. She was rather surprised when she checked her voicemail at work and it was the DJ from KRNA asking her to call him back. She knew the contest was coming to an end, but she had also entered in a few other contests through the same station so she wasn’t 100% sure of why he called. Tracie excitedly called the station back right away, only to hear “I am busy and will have to call you back in just a few moments.” By this point she was very anxious just wondering what this was all about! The DJ called back a short time later with the great news that she had won a trip to Fort Lauderdale, Florida from December 14th to the 16th to see The Black Keys. They will have back stage passes for after the show as well!

Tracie was allowed to invite one person on the trip with her, she choose one of her best friends, Gail Wood. She stated Gail has been there for her in many ways, especially during the remodel and move into her new home right here in Dysart. Congratulations Tracie and Gail, have a wonderful time escaping the chilly weather of an Iowa December for a few days as you enjoy this awesome vacation and concert, you deserve it!
