Lions Club honors Citizens of the Year
The Dysart Lions Club hosted its first annual “Thank-You Luncheon” in appreciation for all of its volunteers here in town. This event was held at the Dysart Lutheran Church on Saturday January 24th.
The Lions Club members showed up bright and early at the church to prepare the delicious food. They served maid-rite sandwiches, baked beans, chips, and a wide variety of desserts. Everyone enjoyed chit-chatting and fellow shipping with each other during the lunch. Then Dwayne Luze spoke and expressed gratitude on behalf of the entire Lions Club for everyone’s hard work and dedication to Dysart, and making it the best town it can be.
Don Lyons stated “I just feel like Dysart has so many fantastic volunteers, we wanted to honor them for all they do.”
Since 1993 the Lions Club has awarded a “Citizen of the Year Award” to one of its volunteers. They are judged upon their volunteerism towards to community, church, and family. They are nominated by other community members through letters sent out by the Lions Club. The nominations are then reviewed by the previous five years of winners. This year the award went to Roger and Dee Roseke. Congratulations, and thank you to Roger and Dee, and the entire Lions Club and its volunteers for all you do to make our community a better place!
