FCSLA plans Palm Sunday breakfast
The First Catholic Slovak Ladies Association met at the home of Freddie and Shirley Kubik to make plans for the annual breakfast that will be held on Palm Sunday, March 29 at the Clutier Legion Hall from 9:00 a.m. to 12:30. All officers were present, including Warren and Bev Colvin, Richard Linhart, and Barb Svoboda. Following a delicious meal, President Paul Svoboda opened the meeting. David Svoboda read the minutes of the last meeting and Shirley Kubik gave the treasurer’s report. Invitations to the breakfast were sent to the families of our deceased members.
Back by popular demand, the lodge will host another dinner/theater trip to the Amana’s on Sunday, June 14 to see The Andrew Brothers. Members can sign up for the trip at the breakfast or by calling Bev Colvin at 476-3075. Also available will be our local branch scholarship applications for $500 as well as the Iowa District scholarships. Delegates are needed for the National Convention to be held October 3-8 in Louisville, Kentucky. If interested in being a delegate, please contact David Svoboda.
