Nolte, Cornman & Johnson P.C. last week released an audit report in the Union Community School District in La Porte City, Iowa.

The District’s revenues totaled $14,962,911 for the year ended June 30, 2014, a 3.08% increase from the prior year. Revenues included $4,442,306 in property tax, $706,809 in income surtax, $1,060,395 in statewide sales, services and use tax, $6,289,131 in unrestricted state grants, $1,226,811 in charges for service, $1,137,275 in operating grants, contributions and restricted interest, $10,000 in capital grants, contributions and restricted interest, $5,490 in unrestricted interest and $84,694 in other general revenues.

Expenses for District operations for the year ended June 30, 2014, totaled $14,758,039 a 1.52% increase from the prior year. Expenses included $5,243,243 for regular instruction, $1,660,370 for other instruction and $1,557,229 for special instruction.
