Every Hero Has a Story at Norma Anders Public Library

Norma Anders Public Library’s summer story hour program, Every Hero Has a Story, will kick off Monday, June 8 with “Superhero Science” presented by the Grout Museum. The program will start promptly at 9:30 am so attendees should plan to arrive approximately fifteen minutes early. Kids will learn about flight, x-rays and get up close and personal with the animal that gave Peter Parker super powers.

The summer reading program is on Mondays in June (June 8, 15, 22 and 27) at 9:30 am. Children in preschool through 2nd grade (ages 3-8) are invited to participate in the library’s summer reading program. Registration is recommended but children may attend regardless. This summer’s programs will be all about heroes.

Once again this summer, children can compete in a summer reading contest which begins on June 1. All children who turn in reading logs will be entered into a prize drawing and receive a pass to the Blank Park Zoo in Des Moines. Top readers will receive an Every Hero Has a Story t-shirt.

Reading logs can be picked up at the library at time of registration or at story hour. Parents, grandparents, older siblings or babysitters may to read to children who cannot read independently.
