‘Bargains on the Bricks’ Sept. 19
In just one month, the Second Annual “Bargains on the Bricks” Flea Market will invade the brick Main Street of La Porte City. Saturday, September 19, 2015, Main Street will become a shopper’s haven. This amazing event runs in conjunction with the city-wide garage sales, also to be held that day.
Organizers, who say contracts are now arriving daily, are very pleased and impressed with the number of vendors contacting them for a spot at this year’s venue. Last year two city blocks were filled from side to side with booths, and it appears that this year the size will grow to at least three. In addition, a sandwich vendor and a mini donut vendor will be set up for shoppers wanting to grab a quick bite as they search for that “just right” treasure.
Wanting to keep this as much a Flea Market as possible, organizers have had to regretfully reject some requests for booth spaces. Since this is a flea, antique and artisan market, home sales opportunity vendors and individuals offering garage sale items have had to be turned away. The intent is so shoppers know they will be attending a true flea market which offers rusty, antique, unique, refurbished, recycled, collectible, vintage, junky, retro and artisan items.
There isn’t much you won’t be able to find during this year’s event! Vendors are already listed as offering a vast variety of items, but more are always welcome.
If you, or someone you know would like to participate, simply contact the organizers on Facebook at “Bargains on the Bricks” or email bargainsonthebricks@gmail.com. Supply them with the type of items you specialize in and your mailing address, and a contract and more information will be immediately sent.
Booth spaces start at $25, and set-up for the day will be from 6 to 9 a.m., with shopping from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
