Important historic barns throughout Iowa will be opened to the public during the Iowa Barn Foundation’s two-day, self-guided all-state barn tour Saturday, September 26 and Sunday, September 27 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

In our area, the closest barn open for visitation is the Hayward Round Brick Barn, located about 3.5 miles north of Dysart on Highway V-37.

The barns on tour either received matching grants or an “award of distinction” from the Iowa Barn Foundation. The annual tour, which attracts visitors from around the country, is free and open to the public.
