Faye Cranston will be retiring from scheduling Meals on Wheels deliveries and delivering meals after 30 year of volunteer service. As of November 1, 2015, Ruth Schafbuch will be scheduling deliveries of Meals on Wheels.

Meals on Wheels is a service program provided by Sunnycrest Nursing Home and the Dysart Development Corp. Noon meals are prepared at Sunnycrest Nursing Home on a contribution basis, Mondays thru Friday, except for Holidays and days school is cancelled due to bad weather. Adults 60 or over who are homebound or unable to shop, cook or wish to receive a meal are eligible to have a noon meal from Sunnycresst delivered to their door by volunteers. Call Sunnycrest Nursing Home at 476-2400 for more information on the program.

Delivery of Meals on Wheels is made possible by volunteer drivers who pick the meals up at 11:30 at the Nursing Home and deliver them. We have enough volunteers to deliver the noon meals, but could use interested persons to be on a volunteer list in case a regular driver needs to have a substitute. We have a list of substitutes for drivers to call when they are unable to deliver the meals. If you could help ocassionally by being on the list of substitutes call me at 476-3727.
