Dysart Lions sponsoring Lighting, Citizen of Year contests

The annual Dysart Christmas Lighting Contest is once again sponsored by the Dysart Lions Club with Dwayne Luze and Abbie Junge as co-chairpersons. The theme this year is “Decorating for Christmas.” There will be three prizes awarded which are: 1st – $50, 2nd – $30, and 3rd – $20. All the prizes will be awarded in Dysart Dollars. The judges will be working on December 22 and 23, so be sure your lights are on those evenings!

Also, it is time to nominate someone for “Dysart Citizen of the Year.” The Citizen may be one person or a couple, but not a club or a group of people. The nomination letters must be sent to: Citizen of the Year, P.O. Box 223, Dysart, IA 52224. The final day to have your letter in is January 12, 2016. This contest is also sponsored by the Dysart Lions Club which started this contest 25 years ago when Terry and Janet Trunck were honored as the first Dysart Citizens of the Year. The letters are judged by the last five winners of the contest.
